Dishwasher shows E06 and will not start or stops shortly after starting; door may appear closed.

Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the door panel or control panel.

• Check door closure: Ensure the door closes firmly and latches with a clear click. Look for obstructions around the door seal or racks preventing full closure.
• Inspect door latch: Examine the metal or plastic latch on the tub frame for bending, cracks, or looseness. Tighten mounting screws if the latch is misaligned.
• Test door lock: With the door open, locate the door lock assembly in the top of the door. Check that the actuator moves freely when the door is closed. If the lock feels loose or broken, it should be replaced.
• Access wiring: Remove the inner door panel to expose the door lock wiring. Inspect the connector for burning or corrosion and ensure it is fully seated.
• Continuity test: With a multimeter, test the door switch contacts for continuity when the latch is engaged. No continuity indicates a faulty door lock assembly.
• Replace door lock if necessary: Remove mounting screws, disconnect wiring, and install a new Grundig-compatible door lock assembly. Reassemble the door carefully to avoid pinching wires.
• Test operation: Restore power and run a short program to confirm that E06 is cleared and the machine starts reliably.
