Possible Causes
Clogged coarse and fine filters, Blocked sump inlet to drain pump, Food debris blocking non-return valve, Grease buildup in sump channels
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before reaching into the sump.
- Remove and clean filters: Take out the coarse filter, microfilter, and any metal mesh filter. Wash them thoroughly with hot water and detergent.
- Inspect sump: Remove the sump cover and check for food debris, labels, or plastic pieces blocking the drain inlet. Remove all obstructions.
- Check non-return valve: Locate the small flap at the drain outlet in the sump. Ensure it moves freely and is not jammed by debris.
- Run a hot cleaning cycle: After reassembly, run an empty hot program with a dishwasher cleaner or a cup of white vinegar (in a dishwasher-safe container) to dissolve grease.
- Regular maintenance: Clean filters weekly to prevent recurrence of E22.
