Dishwasher makes loud grinding or rattling noises during wash or drain.

Safety first: Disconnect power before reaching into the sump or accessing the base.

• 1. Stop the cycle: Open the door to pause the dishwasher when noise occurs.
• 2. Inspect spray arms: Ensure spray arms are not contacting tall items. Remove arms and check for debris inside.
• 3. Check sump for objects: Remove filters and look for broken glass, bones, or other items. Remove carefully with gloves.
• 4. Inspect pumps: Access the circulation and drain pumps from the bottom. Remove them and check for foreign objects in the impellers.
• 5. Replace noisy pump: If the pump still makes grinding noises after cleaning, its bearings may be worn and the pump should be replaced.
