Possible Causes

Failed flow-through heater or bottom heating element, Faulty NTC temperature sensor, Loose or burned heater wiring harness, Defective main control board heater relay

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker. Heating components operate at mains voltage and can cause shock.

  • 1. Confirm symptom: Run a short cycle and, after 10–15 minutes, carefully open the door (pause cycle) and feel the inner door and water. If they are cold, the heater is not operating.
  • 2. Inspect wiring: Remove the toe-kick and side panels if needed. Locate the heater (either a flow-through heater on the circulation pump or a base element). Check for loose connectors, burned terminals, or melted insulation.
  • 3. Test the heater: Disconnect the heater leads and measure resistance with a multimeter. An open circuit (infinite resistance) indicates a failed heater that must be replaced.
  • 4. Check the NTC sensor: Locate the temperature sensor (often in the sump). Measure its resistance at room temperature and compare to Haier specifications. A shorted or open sensor will prevent proper heating.
  • 5. Evaluate the control board: If heater and sensor test good but no voltage is supplied during wash, the main PCB heater relay may be defective and the control board will need replacement.

Warning: Do not bypass thermostats or sensors; this can cause overheating and fire risk.
