Possible Causes

Open-circuit water inlet valve coil, Loose wiring to inlet valve, Faulty main control board output to valve, Blown internal fuse on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power and close the water supply valve before inspecting electrical components.

  • 1. Confirm water availability: Ensure the household water supply is on and the shutoff valve under the sink is fully open.
  • 2. Inspect wiring at inlet valve: Remove the toe-kick and locate the Haier inlet valve. Check that the connector is firmly seated and wires are not damaged or corroded.
  • 3. Test valve coil: Disconnect the valve connector and measure resistance across the coil terminals. An infinite reading indicates a failed coil; replace the water inlet valve assembly.
  • 4. Check control output: With extreme caution and only if you are qualified, you can test for voltage at the valve during the fill phase. If no voltage is present while the control calls for fill, the main PCB may be defective.
  • 5. Replace faulty component: If the valve coil is open or burned, replace the valve. If wiring and valve are good but E5 persists, the control board will likely need replacement.

Warning: Live voltage testing should only be performed by trained persons. When in doubt, contact a professional technician.
