Possible Causes
Seized circulation pump motor, Blocked circulation pump impeller, Faulty wash pump capacitor (if fitted), Defective main control board pump relay
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and ensure the tub is drained before tilting or moving the dishwasher.
- 1. Listen for pump operation: Start a cycle and listen after filling. A loud hum without water spraying indicates a jammed or failed circulation pump.
- 2. Inspect filters and sump: Remove the lower rack and filters. Check the sump area for broken glass, bones, or plastic that could block the pump inlet.
- 3. Access the circulation pump: Lay the dishwasher on its back (with towels to catch water) and remove the bottom panel. Locate the Haier circulation pump attached to the sump.
- 4. Check impeller and rotation: Remove the pump or its cover and inspect the impeller for debris. Try turning the impeller by hand; it should move freely. If stiff or locked, the pump must be replaced.
- 5. Electrical tests: Measure motor winding resistance and check any external start capacitor. Replace the pump assembly if windings are open or the motor is shorted.
Warning: The circulation pump is water-exposed; ensure all seals and clamps are correctly refitted to prevent leaks.
