Possible Causes
Missing high loop in drain hose, Clogged sink drain, Air gap blocked (if installed), Drain hose connected incorrectly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not run the dishwasher while the sink is backing up.
- 1. Clear sink drain: Use a plunger or plumber's snake to clear the sink drain. Do not use chemical drain cleaners.
- 2. Check high loop: Ensure the Haier drain hose is routed up under the countertop before connecting to the sink or disposer.
- 3. Clean air gap: If you have an air gap, remove the cap and clean out any debris.
- 4. Verify connection point: Connect the drain hose to the correct dishwasher inlet on the disposer or sink tailpiece.
- 5. Test for backflow: Run water in the sink and observe the dishwasher; adjust hose routing if water backs up.
Warning: Backflow can introduce food waste into the dishwasher and cause odors and contamination.
