Possible Causes
Blocked drain filter in tank, Obstructed drain hose or air break, Defective drain pump, Foreign object jammed in drain pump impeller
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the dishwasher and isolate it from mains power. Allow hot water inside to cool before working.
- Clean tank filter: Open the door and remove the stainless-steel tank filter and any basket filters used on Hoonved undercounter or hood-type models. Rinse thoroughly to remove food scraps, glass, and labels.
- Inspect drain well: Look into the sump area where the drain pump is located. Remove any visible debris, toothpicks, or broken glass that could block the intake.
- Check drain hose: Follow the drain hose from the machine to the standpipe or sink. Ensure it is not kinked, crushed, or installed with an excessive vertical rise. Remove the hose and flush it with water to clear grease or scale.
- Check air break (if fitted): Some Hoonved models use an external air break or anti-siphon device. Open and clean it to remove grease and limescale.
- Inspect drain pump: Access the drain pump from the front base or side panel. Remove the pump cover and check the impeller for obstructions. If the impeller is loose on the shaft or the pump hums but does not turn, the pump may need replacement.
- Test operation: Reassemble, restore power, clear the error, and run a drain cycle to confirm proper operation.
