Machine fills but does not heat; E3 appears on the display and the cycle time extends indefinitely.

Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the machine to cool completely before touching internal components. Water and metal parts may be very hot.

• Verify power supply: Confirm that the correct three-phase or single-phase supply is present and that external breakers or fuses have not tripped. Hoonved dishwashers often require a dedicated high-amperage circuit.
• Check for scale on heating elements: Remove access panels to inspect the tank and boiler heating elements. Heavy limescale can cause overheating and failure. If elements are heavily scaled, descaling or replacement is recommended.
• Test heating elements: With a multimeter (and power disconnected), measure resistance across the element terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed element. Compare readings with service manual values if available.
• Inspect temperature probes: Locate the NTC probe in the wash tank and/or boiler. Ensure it is firmly seated and wiring is intact. A broken or shorted probe can cause the control to disable heating.
• Check control board outputs: If elements and probes test correctly, the heating relay or triac on the main PCB may be defective. Visual signs include burnt tracks or relays. Board-level repair should be done by a qualified technician.
• After repair: Reassemble, restore power, clear the E3 error, and run a full cycle while monitoring temperature rise on the display.
