Possible Causes

Boiler heating element failure, Faulty boiler NTC temperature probe, Limescale buildup on boiler element, Faulty boiler thermostat or safety cut-out

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate the dishwasher from power and allow the boiler to cool fully. The boiler on Hoonved dishwashers can be under pressure and very hot.

  • Check boiler temperature on display: Many Hoonved models show boiler temperature. If it remains low despite long operation, suspect a heating issue.
  • Inspect boiler element terminals: Remove the top or side panel to access the boiler. Look for burnt wires or loose terminals on the heating element.
  • Test boiler element: With a multimeter, measure resistance across the boiler element. An open circuit or short to ground indicates a failed element that must be replaced.
  • Check safety thermostat: Locate the manual-reset safety thermostat on the boiler. If it has tripped, press the reset button (if present). Investigate cause of overheating (scale, low water level) before reusing.
  • Inspect boiler NTC probe: Ensure the probe is fully inserted into the boiler pocket and wiring is intact. Replace if readings are out of range or intermittent.
  • Descale boiler: Heavy limescale can insulate the element and cause overheating. Drain the boiler and descale according to Hoonved service recommendations.
