Dishwasher does not power on at all; no lights or display, completely dead.

Safety first: Ensure the dishwasher is unplugged before opening any panels. Only work on live circuits if you are qualified.

• Check outlet and fuse: Test the wall socket with another appliance. Check the plug fuse (if applicable) and replace with the correct rating if blown.
• Inspect mains cable: Look for cuts or damage along the Hoover mains cable. Replace if damaged.
• Access terminal block: Remove the base or rear panel to locate the mains terminal block. Tighten any loose screws and look for burn marks.
• Check power filter: Many Hoover dishwashers have a small power filter/EMI board. Inspect for burnt components. Replace the mains filter board if damaged.
• Door switch and power button: Ensure the door closes properly and the on/off button has a positive click. A faulty power switch or door interlock can also prevent power-up.
