Possible Causes
Failed circulation motor, Jammed impeller, Faulty start capacitor (if fitted), Loose pump wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher and turn off water before accessing the base.
- Confirm fill: Start a cycle and wait until filling stops. Open the door to confirm water is present over the filter area.
- Listen for pump: Close the door and listen. A humming noise without water movement suggests a jammed pump; silence suggests no power to the pump.
- Access pump: Lay the machine on its back and remove the base panel. Locate the circulation pump attached to the sump and heater.
- Check impeller and capacitor: Disconnect power leads, remove the pump, and inspect the impeller for obstructions. If a start capacitor is fitted, test or replace it. Spin the motor shaft by hand; it should turn freely.
- Replace pump if necessary: If the motor is seized or open-circuit, install a new circulation pump assembly.
