Possible Causes

Defective door interlock switch, Misaligned door latch hook, Broken door catch, Damaged door harness connector

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher or switch off the circuit breaker before any work. Turn off the water supply.

E01 on Hoover dishwashers commonly indicates the door is not being detected as closed.

  • Check door closure: Open and firmly close the door. Ensure no dishes or cutlery are protruding and preventing full closure.
  • Inspect the latch hook: Open the door and inspect the metal or plastic latch hook at the top/side of the tub. If bent or loose, gently realign it with pliers. Tighten any visible screws.
  • Test the door lock: With power off, remove the outer door panel (usually screws along the inner edge). Locate the door interlock assembly on the top or side of the door. Check for broken plastic, burn marks, or loose connectors.
  • Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the door lock to the control module for pinched or broken wires, especially where it passes through the door hinge area.
  • Replace if faulty: If the door lock switch shows physical damage or intermittent operation, replace the complete door lock / interlock assembly. Transfer any brackets from the old part and reconnect wiring one connector at a time.
  • Reassemble and test: Refit the door panel, restore power and water, and run a short cycle to confirm the error is cleared.
