Possible Causes
Closed or kinked inlet hose, Blocked inlet hose filter, Defective water inlet valve, Low mains water pressure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and close the water tap before working on the appliance.
- Check water supply: Ensure the kitchen tap feeding the dishwasher is fully open. Test water pressure by briefly disconnecting the hose and running water into a bucket.
- Inspect inlet hose: Pull the dishwasher out slightly and check the Hoover inlet hose for kinks or crushing behind the machine. Straighten as needed.
- Clean inlet filter: Turn off water, unscrew the hose from the dishwasher's inlet valve. Inside the valve connection there is a small mesh filter. Carefully pull it out with needle-nose pliers, rinse under running water, and refit.
- Check for valve operation: Restore power and start a cycle while listening at the bottom front. If you do not hear the valve buzzing and no water enters, the water inlet valve may be faulty.
- Replace inlet valve if needed: Remove the lower kick panel, locate the valve where the hose connects, disconnect wiring and hose clamps, and install the new Hoover-compatible valve in the same orientation.
- Final test: Reconnect everything, check for leaks, and run a quick wash to confirm normal filling.
