Possible Causes
Failed drying fan motor, Blocked air duct, Faulty humidity/temperature sensor, Wiring fault to fan
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing any panels. Drying components can be hot after a cycle.
- Confirm symptom: Run a full cycle and check if the dishes are still very wet and cold at the end. Listen for the fan during the drying phase.
- Access fan assembly: On many Hoover dishwashers, the drying fan is located in the door or on the side panel. Remove the inner door panel or side panel to locate it.
- Check for obstructions: Inspect the air duct and vent for blockages (plastic wrap, labels, or insulation). Clear any obstructions.
- Test fan motor: With a multimeter, check continuity of the fan motor. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. Also check that the fan spins freely by hand.
- Inspect wiring: Ensure the fan connector is firmly seated on the control board and at the fan terminals.
- Replace faulty fan: If the motor is defective, replace the drying fan assembly with a Hoover-compatible part.
