Possible Causes

Open-circuit NTC sensor, Shorted NTC sensor, Loose NTC connector, Damaged NTC wiring harness

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher and allow it to cool before working near the sump or heater.

  • Locate the NTC: The NTC temperature sensor is usually clipped into the sump or heater housing at the bottom of the machine.
  • Inspect connector: Check the plug and wiring for corrosion, water ingress, or loose fit. Clean and reseat the connector.
  • Test resistance: Disconnect the NTC and measure resistance with a multimeter. At room temperature it should typically read between 10–50 kΩ (exact value depends on model) and change smoothly when warmed.
  • Replace if faulty: If the NTC is open, shorted, or gives erratic readings, replace the NTC temperature sensor.
  • Check harness: If the NTC tests good, inspect the wiring back to the control board for breaks or pinched sections, especially where it passes through the base.
