Possible Causes
Mechanically jammed inlet valve, Debris in valve seat, Electrical short keeping valve energized, Faulty control relay
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately turn off the water tap and unplug the dishwasher to stop filling.
- Observe valve behavior: With power disconnected and water tap open, check if water still flows into the tub. If so, the valve is mechanically stuck open.
- Inspect inlet valve: Remove the lower front panel, disconnect the inlet hose, and remove the valve. Check for debris lodged in the valve seat and clean if possible.
- Replace valve if needed: If the valve does not close reliably, replace the water inlet valve with a Hoover-compatible part.
- Check control circuit: If water only overfills when powered, the control board may be energizing the valve too long due to a stuck relay. Inspect the PCB and consider replacement if the relay is welded closed.
