Possible Causes
Insufficient rinse aid,Empty salt reservoir,Incorrect water hardness setting,Heavy limescale in heater and tub
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No internal electrical work is required for this issue.
- Check rinse aid level: Refill the rinse aid dispenser and adjust the dosage setting higher if necessary.
- Refill salt: If your Hotpoint model has a built-in softener, ensure the salt reservoir is filled with dishwasher salt and not table salt.
- Set water hardness: Adjust the dishwasher's water hardness setting according to your local water hardness (see user manual).
- Run a cleaning cycle: Use a dishwasher descaler or cleaning product on an empty hot cycle to remove internal limescale.
Persistent cloudiness may be permanent etching on glass from previous misuse and cannot be reversed.
