Dishwasher emits a burning smell or shows signs of overheating during operation.

Safety first: Immediately switch off the dishwasher at the breaker and unplug it. Do not continue using it until inspected.

• Inspect for visible damage: Remove the kick plate and side panels. Look for burnt connectors, melted insulation, or scorch marks on the control board and motors.
• Check pump motors: Smell near the circulation and drain pumps. A strong burnt odour from a motor indicates failure; replace the affected pump.
• Tighten connections: Ensure all high-current connectors (heater, pumps) are tight and not discoloured.
• Ventilation: Confirm there is adequate space around the dishwasher for heat dissipation and that vents are not blocked.
