Possible Causes

Blocked drain filter, Clogged drain hose, Faulty drain pump, Obstructed sink trap connection

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and turn off the water supply before accessing internal parts. Water may be dirty; wear gloves.

  • Clean the sump filter: Open the door, remove the lower rack, twist and lift out the Iberna sump filter assembly. Rinse under hot water and remove any food debris, glass, or labels.
  • Check the pump area: With the filter removed, look into the sump for foreign objects around the drain pump impeller. Carefully remove any debris with long-nose pliers or a spoon.
  • Inspect the drain hose: Follow the drain hose from the dishwasher to the sink trap or standpipe. Ensure it is not kinked or crushed. Detach it from the trap and flush it through with hot water to clear grease or blockages.
  • Check sink trap spigot: If recently installed to a new sink, ensure the plastic knockout in the dishwasher spigot on the trap has been removed. Clear any buildup inside the spigot.
  • Test the drain pump: Access the base of the dishwasher (usually from the front kick plate or by tilting the unit). Check the drain pump for signs of burning or leaks. Spin the impeller by hand; if seized or noisy, replace the drain pump.

If E2 remains after clearing blockages, the drain pump or control board may require professional diagnosis.
