Possible Causes

Leak from circulation pump seal, Loose or damaged hose, Over-foaming from incorrect detergent, Leaking door gasket

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Switch off power at the breaker and close the water supply tap. Water may be present in the base pan.

  • Check for visible leaks: Open the door and inspect around the door gasket and bottom of the door for water trails or soap residue.
  • Remove excess foam: If you used regular dish soap or too much detergent, scoop out foam and run a rinse cycle (once the error is cleared) with no detergent to flush the system.
  • Dry the base pan (temporary reset): Carefully pull the dishwasher out from the cabinet. Tilt it gently about 45° backward over a towel to allow water in the base tray to drain out. This may reset the float switch temporarily.
  • Inspect hoses and clamps: With the side panels removed (if accessible), check the circulation hose, drain hose, and inlet hose for drips or loose clamps while briefly running a cycle (only if you are confident and there is no exposed wiring).
  • Persistent leaks: If water reappears in the base, the circulation pump and motor assembly, tub-to-pump hose, or door gasket may be defective and should be replaced.

Because leaks can damage flooring and electrics, contact a professional if you cannot clearly identify and correct the source.
