Possible Causes
Closed or low-pressure water supply tap, Clogged inlet hose filter, Defective water inlet valve, Faulty flow meter or pressure switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the dishwasher from mains power and close the water supply tap before removing any panels.
- Check water supply: Ensure the kitchen stop valve feeding the Ilve dishwasher is fully open. Verify household water pressure by opening a nearby tap.
- Inspect inlet hose: Pull the dishwasher forward slightly, close the water tap, and disconnect the inlet hose. Clean the small mesh filter at the hose end and at the valve connection on the dishwasher using a soft brush.
- Verify no kinks: Make sure the inlet hose is not kinked or crushed behind the cabinet.
- Test a reset: Restore power, reopen the water tap, and run a short cycle to see if E1 clears.
- If still faulty: With power disconnected, access the base panel and locate the water inlet valve. Check its coil resistance with a multimeter (compare to Ilve service specs). If open-circuit or shorted, replace the valve assembly. If the valve tests good but no water is detected, the flow meter or pressure switch in the side tank/water softener assembly may be defective and should be tested or replaced by a technician.
