Possible Causes
Open or shorted NTC sensor, Loose NTC connector, Wiring fault between NTC and control board, Control board analog input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power before accessing the sump or heater area.
- Locate NTC sensor: The NTC temperature sensor is usually mounted in the sump or on the heater housing. Access from the base of the dishwasher.
- Inspect connector: Ensure the NTC plug is firmly seated and free of corrosion.
- Measure resistance: Remove the sensor connector and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare to Ilve specifications (commonly 10–50 kΩ at 25°C). A reading of 0 Ω (short) or infinite (open) indicates a faulty sensor.
- Replace NTC: If out of spec, remove and replace the NTC sensor, ensuring the sealing grommet is correctly seated to prevent leaks.
- Check wiring: If the sensor is good, inspect the harness to the control board. Repair any damaged wires. Persistent E13 with good wiring and sensor suggests a defective control board.
