Possible Causes
Weak door lock solenoid or motor, Misaligned door causing partial engagement, Faulty door closed sensor, Wiring fault to lock
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher before removing the door panel.
- Check door alignment: Ensure the dishwasher is level and not twisted in the cabinet. Adjust the feet so the door closes squarely.
- Inspect strike and latch: Look for wear or bending on the door strike. Adjust or replace if the latch does not fully engage.
- Access lock mechanism: Remove the inner door panel to expose the door lock actuator. Listen for the actuator when starting a cycle; if it clicks repeatedly without locking, it may be weak.
- Electrical test: Measure the actuator coil resistance and compare to spec. Check continuity of the door closed sensor contacts.
- Replace lock assembly: If mechanical or electrical tests fail, replace the complete door lock assembly and re-test.
