Dishwasher displays E19; detergent dispenser may not open or opens at the wrong time.

Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher before working on the door.

• Check dispenser manually: Open the door and inspect the detergent dispenser. Ensure the lid moves freely and is not obstructed by detergent buildup.
• Clean dispenser: Remove caked detergent with warm water and a soft brush. Ensure the spring mechanism is free.
• Access actuator: Remove the inner door panel to expose the back of the dispenser. Check the actuator (solenoid or wax motor) for signs of overheating.
• Electrical test: Measure coil resistance and compare to spec. If open or shorted, replace the dispenser assembly.
• Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the control board to the dispenser for breaks or loose connectors.
