Possible Causes

Defective flow meter in side tank, Blocked water softener or side tank, Wiring issue between flow meter and control board, Control board input fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect mains power and close the water tap.

  • Check basic fill: Start a cycle and observe whether water enters the tub before E7 appears. If no water enters, also check inlet valve and supply.
  • Access side tank: Remove the left side panel to expose the water softener/side tank assembly where the flow meter is usually integrated.
  • Inspect for blockages: Look for heavy limescale or debris in the side tank channels. Flush with hot water and descaler if necessary.
  • Test flow meter: Disconnect the flow meter connector and check for continuity across its terminals. While gently blowing water or air through, you should see pulses on a multimeter set to Hz or continuity (advanced users).
  • Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the flow meter to the main control board for damage or corrosion at connectors.
  • Replace component: If the flow meter is non-functional or physically damaged, replace the flow meter/side tank assembly. If the meter is good but the board does not register pulses, the control module may need replacement.
