Possible Causes
Insulation breakdown in heater element, Moisture in wiring harness, Faulty NTC sensor shorting to ground, Damaged control board earth tracking
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker. Do not continue using the dishwasher until the earth fault is resolved.
- Visual inspection: Remove the lower panel and inspect the heater assembly and wiring for burn marks, melted insulation, or signs of water ingress.
- Insulation test (advanced): Using a megohmmeter, test resistance between heater terminals and earth. A low reading (below manufacturer spec) indicates leakage and the heater must be replaced.
- Check NTC sensor: Inspect the temperature sensor wiring for chafing against metal parts. Replace if damaged or shorted.
- Dry the base: If there has been a leak, thoroughly dry the base and wiring before retesting.
- Replace faulty parts: Install a new heater assembly if insulation is compromised. If the control board shows visible tracking or burn marks, replace the main control module.
