Dishwasher makes loud grinding or rattling noises during wash or drain.

Safety: Unplug the appliance before inspecting internal components.

Check spray arms and loading:

• Ensure spray arms spin freely by hand and are not contacting tall dishes or cutlery.
• Rearrange items so nothing protrudes into the path of the arms.

Inspect pumps:

• Remove filters and check the sump for broken glass or hard objects.
• Access the drain pump and circulation pump from the base and inspect impeller housings for debris.
• Remove any foreign objects carefully.

If noise persists and the pump feels rough when turned by hand, the pump bearings may be worn and the pump assembly should be replaced.
