Possible Causes

Blocked inlet filter at Aquastop hose, Failed water inlet valve, Low mains water pressure, Kinked or crushed inlet hose

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off the water supply tap and disconnect power before removing hoses.

Check water supply:

  • Ensure the kitchen tap feeding the dishwasher is fully open.
  • Disconnect the inlet hose from the tap and run it into a bucket briefly to confirm good water flow from the tap.

Clean inlet filters:

  • Inspect the small mesh filter at the hose end and at the valve end (on some Indesit models). Rinse under running water to remove limescale and debris.
  • Check the hose for kinks or crushing behind the machine.

Valve inspection:

  • Pull the dishwasher out and access the inlet valve (often at the left side or rear base).
  • Check the electrical connector is firmly seated and not corroded.
  • If you have a multimeter, measure coil resistance; an open circuit indicates a failed valve.

Reassembly:

  • Reconnect the hose, turn on the water, check for leaks, restore power, and run a fill test.

If water supply and filters are fine but F04 persists, the inlet valve assembly will likely need replacement.
