Possible Causes
Blocked drain pump impeller, Clogged sump filter or drain hose, Failed drain pump motor, Blocked spigot at sink trap or waste connection
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power and be prepared for water spillage when removing hoses.
Internal filter and sump:
- Open the door and remove the lower basket.
- Lift out the coarse and fine filters in the base. Rinse thoroughly under hot water.
- Use a sponge to remove standing water from the sump so you can see the pump cover.
Check the drain pump:
- Remove the small cover over the drain pump (if accessible from inside). Check for glass, food, or labels obstructing the impeller.
- From underneath (remove lower panel), locate the drain pump on the side of the sump. Disconnect the hose and electrical connector.
- Inspect the impeller for damage and ensure it spins freely.
Drain hose and sink connection:
- Follow the drain hose to where it connects to the sink trap or waste disposal.
- Remove the hose and check for blockages or a blanking plug left in a new trap spigot.
- Flush the hose with hot water to clear grease build‑up.
Reassemble and test:
- Refit the pump and hoses securely, ensuring all clamps are tight.
- Restore power and run a drain or cancel cycle to confirm proper emptying.
If the pump hums but does not turn, or is electrically open, replace the drain pump.
