Possible Causes
Burnt out drain pump motor, Impeller jammed solid by foreign object, Loose or burnt pump connector, Open circuit in pump winding
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect mains and be prepared for water spillage.
Access the pump:
- Remove the lower front panel or tilt the machine carefully to access the base.
- Locate the drain pump on the sump outlet.
Check for blockage:
- Disconnect the pump from the sump and inspect the impeller chamber for glass, bones, or plastic.
- Attempt to rotate the impeller by hand; if seized, the pump must be replaced.
Electrical test:
- Measure resistance across the pump terminals. A very high or infinite reading indicates a failed winding.
- Inspect the connector for heat damage and ensure a tight fit.
Reassembly:
- Refit or replace the pump, ensuring the seal is correctly seated.
- Reconnect hoses and wiring, refit panels, restore power, and run a drain test.
