How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect mains power before accessing the top or side panels.
Locate the drying system:
- On Indesit models with active drying, the fan is usually mounted in the door or on the side/top of the tub with an air duct.
- Remove the inner door panel or side panel to access the fan housing.
Inspection:
- Check the fan blades for obstruction by insulation, plastic, or debris.
- Spin the fan by hand; it should rotate freely.
- Inspect the wiring connector for secure fit and no corrosion.
Electrical test:
- Measure resistance across the fan motor; an open circuit indicates failure.
- If accessible, test for supply voltage at the fan during the drying phase (requires live testing by a competent person).
Action:
- Replace the fan assembly if seized or electrically open.
- If the fan is good but not powered, the control board’s fan driver may be faulty and the PCB will need replacement.
