Possible Causes
Worn or damaged door gasket, Clogged spray arms causing misdirected jets, Over-foaming from wrong detergent, Misaligned door or tub
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher and turn off water if the leak is significant.
- 1. Inspect door gasket: Open the door and examine the rubber gasket around the tub opening for tears, flattening, or gaps. Clean it with warm soapy water.
- 2. Check spray arms: Remove and clean spray arms to ensure jets are not blocked and spraying directly at the door seam.
- 3. Verify detergent type: Use only dishwasher-specific detergent. If you recently used regular dish soap, run several rinse cycles to clear excess suds.
- 4. Level the dishwasher: Use a level to ensure the unit is not tilted forward. Adjust front leveling legs so the door seals evenly.
- 5. Replace gasket if needed: If the gasket is brittle or deformed, pull it out of the channel and install a new Insignia-compatible door gasket, pressing it firmly into place.
If leaks continue from the corners or under the door, a technician should inspect for tub or hinge alignment issues.
