Dishwasher will not power on at all; no lights or display, no response to buttons.

Safety first: Before touching wiring, ensure the breaker is off. Only work on live circuits if you are qualified.

• 1. Check household breaker: Verify the dishwasher’s breaker is not tripped. Reset if necessary.
• 2. Confirm outlet or hardwire power: If your Insignia dishwasher uses a plug, test the outlet with another device. For hardwired units, open the junction box behind the toe-kick and verify connections are tight and not burned.
• 3. Inspect power cord: Look for cuts, burns, or crushed sections. Replace the cord if damaged.
• 4. Check door switch: If the unit has power but no response, a failed door switch can prevent startup. Access the door lock assembly and test the switch for continuity when latched. Replace if open.
• 5. Evaluate control board: If power is present at the terminal block but the control is completely dead, the main control board may be failed and should be replaced.
