Possible Causes
Misaligned door latch, Failed door switch, Broken latch mechanism, Loose wiring to door lock
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the door panel.
- 1. Check door closure: Ensure the dishwasher is level and not pushed too far back into the cabinet, which can twist the door. Close the door firmly and listen for a solid latch click.
- 2. Inspect latch strike: Open the door and inspect the metal or plastic strike on the tub frame. Make sure it is not bent or loose. Adjust or tighten screws as needed.
- 3. Access door lock assembly: Remove the inner door panel screws to expose the latch/lock assembly. Check for broken plastic parts or misalignment.
- 4. Test door switch: Disconnect the switch wiring and test continuity with the door latch engaged. If the switch does not close when latched, replace the door lock assembly.
- 5. Reassemble and test: Install a new Insignia-compatible door lock assembly if needed, reassemble the door, and test a cycle.
If E11 persists with a new latch, the control board input circuit may be faulty and should be checked by a technician.
