Possible Causes
Stuck float in raised position, Faulty float switch, Debris under float dome, Wiring issue to float switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and avoid sharp edges inside the tub.
- 1. Locate float assembly: Inside the tub, usually near a front corner, locate the plastic float dome or cover.
- 2. Check float movement: Remove the cover if applicable and gently lift and drop the float. It should move freely and click the switch below. Remove any debris or scale that may be jamming it.
- 3. Test float switch: From underneath or behind the toe-kick, access the float switch. Disconnect wiring and test continuity while manually raising and lowering the float. Replace the switch if it does not change state.
- 4. Inspect wiring: Ensure the harness to the float switch is intact and firmly connected to the control board.
- 5. Replace float assembly if damaged: If the float is waterlogged or deformed, install a new Insignia-compatible float and switch assembly.
After repair, run a test cycle and monitor filling behavior. If E14 persists, further control board diagnostics may be needed.
