Possible Causes
Partially clogged inlet valve screen, Partially closed shutoff valve, Mineral buildup in inlet hose, Low municipal water pressure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off water supply and disconnect power before removing hoses.
- 1. Verify shutoff valve: Ensure the under-sink shutoff valve feeding the dishwasher is fully open.
- 2. Clean inlet screen: Disconnect the inlet hose from the dishwasher’s water inlet valve. Remove and rinse the small mesh screen inside the valve fitting to clear sediment.
- 3. Flush inlet hose: With the hose disconnected from the dishwasher and held over a bucket, briefly open the shutoff valve to flush debris from the hose. Close valve and reconnect.
- 4. Run a test fill: Restore water and power, then start a cycle. Listen to the fill; it should be strong and steady. If still weak, the inlet valve may be partially blocked internally.
- 5. Replace inlet valve if needed: Install a new Insignia-compatible water inlet valve if cleaning does not restore normal fill rate.
If household water pressure is low throughout the home, consult your water supplier or a plumber.
