Possible Causes
Defective flow meter, Blocked flow meter turbine, Wiring issue between flow meter and control board, Control board sensor circuit fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and shut off water before removing hoses.
- 1. Verify water supply: Confirm that the inlet valve is open and that water pressure is adequate at the sink.
- 2. Locate flow meter: On many Insignia dishwashers, the flow meter is integrated with or located near the water inlet assembly or side water channel.
- 3. Inspect for debris: Remove the inlet hose and, if accessible, the flow meter housing. Look for scale or debris blocking the small turbine wheel. Clean gently with water.
- 4. Check wiring: Ensure the small harness from the flow meter to the control board is intact and firmly connected at both ends.
- 5. Replace faulty flow meter: If the turbine is damaged or the sensor tests open with a multimeter, install a new Insignia-compatible flow meter assembly.
If E9 persists after replacement, the main control board may not be reading the sensor correctly and should be checked by a technician.
