Possible Causes

Incoming water supply valve closed, Clogged inlet water strainer, Failed water inlet solenoid valve, Faulty water level float switch

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker and shut off the dishwasher’s water supply before servicing. Commercial Jackson units are often hard-wired and may be on high voltage—use extreme caution.

  • Verify water supply: Ensure the building’s supply valve feeding the Jackson dishwasher is fully open. Check for kinks or crushing in the stainless or copper supply line.
  • Clean inlet strainer: At the machine’s water inlet (often near the fill solenoid), remove the hose and inspect the inlet screen/strainer for debris or scale. Clean with a soft brush and reinstall.
  • Check float and float switch: Open the tank and locate the water level float assembly. Make sure it moves freely and is not stuck by scale or food debris. Clean the float guide tube. Test the float switch with a multimeter for continuity when raised/lowered.
  • Test inlet solenoid valve: With power off, inspect wiring to the water inlet solenoid valve. Restore power briefly and measure voltage at the valve during fill command (only if you are qualified). If proper voltage is present but the valve does not open, replace the inlet valve.
  • Inspect control board connections: Check the harness from the control board to the fill valve and float switch for loose or corroded connectors.

If the machine still will not fill after these checks, the control board or timing module may be defective and should be diagnosed by a qualified Jackson service technician.
