Possible Causes
Misaligned door/hood, Faulty door interlock switch, Broken actuator or cam on door, Damaged wiring to door switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power. Door interlocks are safety devices—never bypass them for operation.
- Inspect door or hood alignment: Check that the door or hood closes squarely and fully. Adjust hinges or hood lift arms so that the latch engages firmly.
- Check door switch actuator: Locate the door interlock switch and its actuator tab or cam. Ensure the actuator fully depresses the switch when the door is closed. Replace bent or broken actuators.
- Test door switch: Remove the switch and test with a multimeter for proper open/closed operation as the actuator is pressed. Replace the switch if it does not change state reliably.
- Inspect wiring harness: Follow the wires from the door switch to the control board. Look for broken conductors at flex points, loose terminals, or corrosion. Repair or replace damaged wiring.
After repair, verify that the machine will not start with the door or hood open and that E7 no longer appears when closed.
