Possible Causes

Leaking tank or drain valve stuck open, Faulty water level probe or float switch, Air lock in fill line, Incorrectly adjusted level control

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and allow hot surfaces to cool. Slippery floors from leaks are a hazard.

  • Check for visible leaks: Inspect the tank, door gasket, and drain valve area for active leaks. Tighten clamps and fittings; replace gaskets or seals as needed.
  • Inspect drain valve: If equipped with an automatic drain valve, ensure it is fully closed during operation. A stuck-open drain valve will prevent the tank from maintaining level. Clean or replace the valve.
  • Clean level probe or float: For probe-type level controls, remove the stainless level probe and clean off scale and grease. For float systems, clean the float and guide tube. Reinstall and ensure free movement.
  • Bleed air from fill line: After plumbing changes, air can trap in the fill line. Crack open a union or fitting near the inlet to purge air while briefly turning on water (qualified personnel only).
  • Adjust level control: Some Jackson models allow adjustment of the water level setpoint. Follow the service manual to set the correct level so that spray arms are fully submerged during operation.

Running with low water level can damage pumps and heaters; correct the issue before returning the dishwasher to service.
