Possible Causes
Worn or torn door gasket, Misaligned door, Overfilling due to float issue, Excessive suds from wrong detergent
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and water if the leak is significant.
- Inspect door gasket: Open the door and examine the rubber gasket around the tub opening for tears, flattening, or gaps. Replace if damaged.
- Clean sealing surfaces: Wipe the gasket and mating surfaces on the door with warm soapy water to remove grease and debris.
- Check for over-sudsing: Ensure you are using only dishwasher detergent and not regular dish soap. Excess suds can push water out the door.
- Verify level: Confirm the dishwasher is level side-to-side and slightly tilted back so water does not pool at the front.
- Float function: Check that the float moves freely and is not stuck, which could cause overfilling.
Tip: Replace the door gasket every few years in hard-use environments to maintain a good seal.
