Possible Causes
Clogged drain hose, Blocked air gap, Obstructed sump or filter, Failed drain pump
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and bail out as much water as possible before accessing the pump.
- Clean filters and sump: Remove the bottom rack and filters. Clear any food debris from the sump area.
- Check air gap and sink connection: Clean the air gap (if present) and ensure the connection at the sink or disposer is not blocked.
- Inspect drain hose: Detach the hose from the sink/disposer and check for clogs or kinks. Flush with hot water.
- Test drain pump: If the pump hums but does not move water, or is silent, access and inspect the pump. Remove obstructions or replace the pump if defective.
Note: Regularly cleaning filters greatly reduces drain problems.
