Dishwasher makes loud grinding, rattling, or buzzing noises during the wash cycle.

Safety: Turn off power before reaching into the tub or sump.

• Check spray arms: Ensure spray arms spin freely and are not contacting tall items or racks. Reposition dishes as needed.
• Inspect sump: Remove filters and look into the sump for foreign objects like glass, bones, or utensils. Carefully remove any debris.
• Listen to pump: If noise persists and seems to come from the motor area, the circulation pump bearings may be worn. Replace the pump or sump/pump assembly.
• Drain pump noise: Brief loud noise only during drain may indicate a failing drain pump, which should be replaced.

Note: Avoid washing items that can easily break into small hard pieces without securing them properly.
