Possible Causes
Tripped circuit breaker, Loose power connection at junction box, Failed door switch, Defective main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Always turn off the circuit breaker before opening any electrical junction boxes.
- Check breaker and outlet: Verify the dishwasher's breaker is ON and not tripped. Reset if necessary. If the dishwasher is cord-connected, test the outlet with another appliance.
- Inspect junction box: Remove the lower kick plate and open the dishwasher's junction box (usually on the right underside). Confirm wire nuts are tight and no wires are burnt or loose. Repair any damaged wiring.
- Door switch check: If power is present but the unit is dead, test the door switch for continuity when closed. Replace the door latch/switch assembly if faulty.
- Control board: If line power is confirmed at the control board but there are no lights or response, the main control board is likely defective and should be replaced.
Warning: Only work on live circuits if you are trained and using proper tools. Otherwise, contact a professional.
