Possible Causes

Shorted touchpad, Failed user interface board, Loose ribbon cable between UI and main control, Moisture intrusion into control panel

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before opening the door panel.

  • Power reset: Shut off power for 5 minutes, then restore and test. If F1E2 returns immediately, continue.
  • Inspect UI connections: Remove the inner door panel to access the user interface (UI) board. Check the flat ribbon cable and connectors between the UI and main control for corrosion, kinks, or loose fit. Reseat all connectors.
  • Check for moisture: Look for condensation or water trails around the UI area and vent. If present, dry thoroughly and inspect the door vent and gasket for leaks.
  • Button test: With power restored and door assembled, test each button. If some buttons are unresponsive or trigger wrong functions, the UI is likely defective.
  • Replace UI assembly: If wiring is intact and F1E2 persists, replace the user interface / control panel assembly specific to your JennAir model.

Note: Avoid spraying cleaners directly on the control panel; spray a cloth instead to prevent future moisture damage.
