Possible Causes
Contaminated touchpad contacts, Stuck button due to debris or spill, Shorted keypad membrane, Moisture under control overlay
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before disassembling the door.
- Clean the panel surface: Wipe the control panel with a slightly damp cloth and mild detergent to remove grease or residue around buttons. Do not soak the panel.
- Power cycle: After cleaning, turn power off for 5 minutes, then restore and test. Sometimes the code clears if the key is no longer stuck.
- Inspect from inside: Remove the inner door panel to access the back of the touchpad. Check for moisture, corrosion, or physical damage to the keypad membrane and ribbon cable.
- Dry and reseat: If moisture is present, dry thoroughly. Reseat the ribbon cable into the main control, ensuring it is fully inserted and locked.
- Replace touchpad/UI: If F2E1 persists and a specific button feels stuck or does not click, replace the touchpad or full UI assembly as designed for your JennAir model.
Tip: Avoid pressing the same area excessively hard; this can permanently deform the membrane.
