Possible Causes

Loose or damaged UI ribbon cable, Corroded connector pins, Failed UI board, Failed main control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power at the breaker.

  • Access wiring: Remove the inner door panel to expose the UI board and main control board.
  • Inspect ribbon cable: Check the flat ribbon cable between the UI and main control for cracks, pinches, or burn marks. Replace if damaged.
  • Clean connectors: Use a dry, soft brush or electronics contact cleaner (applied to a cotton swab) to gently clean connector pins. Let dry completely.
  • Reseat connectors: Firmly reseat both ends of the ribbon cable and any harnesses between the UI and control.
  • Test operation: Restore power and run a short cycle. If F2E2 returns, one of the boards is faulty.
  • Board replacement: Replace the UI board first (most common). If the issue persists, replace the main control board.

Warning: Do not work on the control area with power applied; risk of electric shock.
