Possible Causes
Defective water inlet valve coil, Clogged inlet valve screen, Closed or partially closed household water supply valve, Kinked or blocked fill hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and shut off the dishwasher's water supply valve under the sink.
- Verify water supply: Confirm the shutoff valve to the dishwasher is fully open. Check for kinks in the stainless or plastic supply line.
- Clean inlet screen: Remove the lower kick plate, locate the water inlet valve where the supply line connects, and disconnect the line (have a towel ready). Inspect and clean the small screen filter inside the valve inlet using a soft brush.
- Check for debris in fill hose: Flush the supply line into a bucket to ensure strong water flow from the house plumbing.
- Valve coil test (advanced): With power off, disconnect the valve wires and measure coil resistance. Compare to JennAir specs; replace the valve if open or shorted.
- Replace inlet valve: If cleaning and supply checks do not restore filling, install a new JennAir-compatible water inlet valve and ensure all connections are leak-free.
Note: Always use new compression fittings or seals when reconnecting water lines to prevent leaks.
