Possible Causes
Stuck or contaminated float switch, Blocked pressure hose to level sensor, Failed overfill sensor, Wiring issue to sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power and turn off water supply.
- Check float assembly: Open the door and locate the float (usually a small dome or cylinder in the tub floor). Lift it up and down; it should move freely and click the switch. Clean any debris, soap scum, or food particles around it.
- Test float switch: Remove the lower kick plate and locate the float switch under the tub. With power off, disconnect the wires and check for continuity while manually operating the float. Replace the switch if it does not change state.
- Inspect pressure hose (if equipped): Some JennAir models use a pressure sensor with a small rubber hose. Check the hose for kinks, blockages, or water trapped where it should be air-filled. Clear or replace as needed.
- Sensor replacement: If the float and hose are clean and F4E2 persists, replace the water level/overfill sensor or float switch assembly.
Warning: Overfilling can cause leaks and floor damage. Do not operate the dishwasher until the overfill issue is resolved.
